A clinical research study is conducted to examine the causes and treatments of specific conditions such as drug abuse or lung cancer. Clinical research studies are conducted by qualified professionals who follow research guidelines to minimize risk to participants. Clinical research studies are extremely important because they provide information on the causes of a problem and the best ways to treat it.

Why do people enroll in a clinical study?
People enroll in a clinical research study for numerous reasons. Study participants can gain access to and benefit from effective treatments that may not be widely available.   Treatments are also usually provided free of charge.
